The way to make the most money on the Internet, and with

people to that website that you can. If you’ve got a website
and one person comes to it every year and they don’t buy

Here’s a pretty simple idea that a lot of marketers we’ve
seen have totally overlooked - namely, participating in
discussion forums and discussion groups on the Internet.
Some people are familiar with the old computer
bulletin boards and the computer bulletin board systems that
used to be around several years ago. A lot of the discussion
forums on the Internet are basically glorified bulletin board
systems for people to share information and knowledge that
they have and ask questions of other people. People that may
be experts answer the questions. They just get together and
communicate about various topics.
While you cannot
blatantly advertise on these discussion forums, you can use
them to your advantage to get free advertising - We’ve done it
- it’s how you could bring in truckloads of cash with Internet
discussion boards! Here’s how we did it - and how you could do
it, too!
First of all, there are many discussion
forums out there. If you’ve been on the Internet and looked
around, you’ll see that there are discussion forums on just
about any topic you could imagine. The market that we service
is the business opportunity market.
There are a lot of
marketing forums. There are also forums for gardening,
cooking, etc. There are lots of different forums. Their only
purpose is to serve as a board where people can post their
questions or comments and have other people respond to them.
You’ll find that some of these discussion forums have hundreds
and hundreds of people, maybe thousands of people, who visit
them and participate in them.
Just by being involved
in these discussion forums, without advertising, you can let
people know you have a web site that is along the same topic
that the discussion forum caters to. When you’re submitting
your response, your question, or your statement on the forum,
most of them have a place at the bottom of the post where it
says enter your web site address. You can enter your web site
address. There’s another line that says enter a brief
description of your web site. You can list a brief
description. Some of them even have a place where you can
actually post a graphic. Not only would you have your address
with a brief description, but it would also list a small
graphic, maybe a banner ad or something that gave a little
more information about your site.
Remember, you don’t
want to blatantly advertise on these discussion forums. Every
time you participate, every time you ask a question, and every
time you answer a question, you can put that link to your web
site on there and say “By the way, I have a web site that you
might be interested in. Click here to go right there.” People
can click on it and go right to your web site.
There
are three kinds of people that visit discussion forums. The
first kind is the people who ask the questions or make the
statements on the discussion forum. The second kind is the
people who answer the questions. If you visit discussion
forums, you’ll notice that sometimes there are a lot more
people answering questions than asking. The third kind is the
people who visit the board, read the questions, read the
answers, but don’t actually participate. Those are the people
that you never really see or hear from. You know there are a
lot more of those people on the discussion forum than those
that are participating. While you may only see fifty or sixty
people who have their name there by a response or a question,
there may be hundreds of people that have visited and seen
your responses and your advertisement leading back to your web
site.
That’s just a simple idea. You can’t really
blatantly advertise, but you can get the free advertising by
participating on the board as much as you can, responding to
people’s questions, and using that free link that they let you
put at the bottom to draw people back to your web site. Some
forums attract hundreds, or even thousands of people that
could be good potential customers every day . . . so why not
get involved and let them know you’re out there?
We
have a friend who has a newsletter. When he first started his
newsletter, he began visiting the discussion boards. He
basically answered people’s questions . . . and at the bottom
of every message he posted was a little link.
When
people would click on that link, an audio responder would send
them a copy of his newsletter by email. The responder did all
the work, sent our friend the orders, and would keep half the
money.
So, just by answering a few questions, our
friend had hundreds of people subscribe! It cost the people
$97 a year to subscribe, and our friend split the money with
the audio responder. He’s told us that he felt like he was
doing a good thing by helping folks out on these boards . . .
and then getting also handsomely rewarded!

times that many. It’s a news site - It’s like a news station
on TV, a news magazine, or news radio. It’s also seen
potentially by millions and millions and millions of people.
If you go to news.com, you’ll see their contact information.
If you have a hot story, something new, exciting, or
interesting, you can find out more by going to this site every
day and seeing what kind of a story they run. Then, you can
send your news release to them.
We’ve helped people
get in the newspaper, and in magazines such as National
Geographic, Reader’s Digest, and Wall Street Journal. There’s
no reason you can’t get on news.com! And, Instead of only
1,000 subscribers or a quarter of a million TV viewers seeing
it, you have a chance of up to ten million people seeing your
news story absolutely free! We can’t even imagine what it
would cost to put your message in front of ten million people
with standard advertising and marketing techniques. If you did
direct mail, and the typical direct mail costs about fifty
cents per piece, that would cost you five million

available at freepublicity.com. They’ll send you these disks,
and you can try them out for free. If you like it, you can
actually own your own editor list. We know someone who used to
sell editor lists. He sold tons and tons of them when he had a
very good book out on how to get free publicity. Now, you can
get this list and own it instead of renting it!
Our
friend would rent out the list for one time use, and he had a
license to do that as a public relations firm. Now, Gebbie
will send you a free sample, and then if you buy it, you
actually own your own editor database. So, it’s a really
powerful tool, and it’s very, very inexpensive!

Using small ads and small postcards to drive people to your
web site is how to use the Internet to leverage your way to
massive on-line profits! It gives you leverage that you never
had before, because you don’t have to spend all of that money
on printing and postage. Now your small postcard does the work
that before took a lot of money to do.
We’re talking
about working out an arrangement with a couple hundred other
web sites out there. Now you’re talking about multiplying
yourself and getting yourself tremendous leverage. Who says
that little people, average people don’t have more chances now

want, they’ll buy it from you just as quickly as they’ll buy
it from Sun Microsystem, IBM, or anybody else.
If
you’re selling one $20 product on your one web site , you’re
going to make $20. If you’re selling one a week you’re going
to make $20 a week. If you go out there and work out an
arrangement with a hundred web site owners, that same $20 now
becomes $2000 a week, which is a $100,000 a year. Go out there
and initially, over a period of time, work out an arrangement
with a thousand web site owners, which is definitely not
impossible. It will take consistent work on a weekly or daily
basis.
That’s $20,000 a week now, that’s a million
dollars a year. You’re just selling that one $20 product
still, but you’re leveraging yourself out. See how powerful
that is? Now the average person can have more power than ever
before! And, when you’re leveraging and working these joint
ventures, and you get that product out on a thousand web

Find three or four things that you can go right out and
start doing immediately. That’s it! Put your web site address
on everything. This goes for e-mail, as well. People will
e-mail you for information. Once we turned our clients onto
this idea, they started sending us photos and letters showing
us things they’ve done with their web address.
In
fact, we’ve literally seen that if it’s not moving, they tend
to slap their URL on them when they get going. It can actually
be fun. Some of them have made bumper stickers, for example,
or just a sticker. They’ll actually go around and give them
away to friends or stick them on friends’ cars. Within the
limits of the law, people will put them on mailboxes, street
lights, or things where it doesn’t say “post no bills,” for
example. The bottom line is to put it everywhere.
This
is excellent for promoting a local business. If you put up a
web site or have an e-mail address you can do the same thing.
E-mail me for information. Give the email address. Put it in
your store window, if you’ve got a store. Put it on your sign
out front by the road, if you have one. That way people
driving by can see it. Stick it in every ad you ever run.
Stick it on your business cards and your stationary. This goes
one step further.
Most of us have seen the catalogs
with the giveaway promotional items. Put your e-mail or web
site 13 address on pens or pencils. There are some really neat
gift items lately. “Give-away items” that promote products
like letter openers that look like a CD. The “nerd-like”
pocket protectors that people give away. We don’t give those
away, but they can be kind of fun if they’re done right.
People looking for what you have will go, look, and
see what else you have. This is proven time and time again.
It’s been long predicted that, eventually, we’ll see
television advertising reduced to little more than a ten
second or a five second spot to display someone’s web site,
and tell prospects to go there.
We’re already seeing a
huge decrease in the amount of advertisement time. They’ll
cram 30 advertisements in a one minute spot anymore. They’re
like little five second this and ten second that ads, and half
of them have a web site address on them. They’re already
catching on, especially on the cable channels. Put your web
address or your e-mail address everywhere. We saw it on the
back window of one of our customer’s car, just the web
address. He was driving around, and anybody seeing that car
sees the address. He might be drawing 20 or 30 potential
customers a day.
Another customer sent us a picture of
a race car that he drives on the circuit. He put his web
address in huge letters across the side of the car. Just
imagine, if you just look around a little bit, you’ll find
ways you can’t even think of. Any place where people walk by,
look, or see. Stick your web address there.

Now, we’re going to talk about using print news releases to
do on-line free advertising.
Okay, so, what are the
best ways to build a business? We think it is to use news
releases. Many of us do it to get those free publicity sales.
We’ve sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of books and
other products by mailing news releases. They really work.
They’re a billion dollar off-line method you can use to get
rich with your on-line web site! They’ve brought direct
marketers billions and billions of dollars over the years . .
. now put them to work for you!
Typically, a news
release is written double spaced on a single sheet. That’s one
of the drawbacks, or disadvantages, of press releases. You
usually can only use about 100 words to tell your story. Print
publishers will only give you so much space.
On our
web sites, however, space is no problem. We’re assuming that
you have a web site listener, and if you don’t, we really
think you should, because that is the basis of great Internet
marketing. You can do it with emails. You don’t have to have a
web site, but you have a major advantage if you do have one.
With a web site, we can use as many pages to tell our story as
we want.
We’re recommending that you continue to send
out news releases to print publications or start doing it, if
15 you’re not. At the end of your news release, we strongly
suggest that you give your web site address.
To make
it even more exciting for people to go to your web site, you
can tell them that if they go to your web address, they can
get a complete description of your great products. This is
very important, because you can’t tell the full story in a
short news release to print publications. We’re using off-line
news releases to promote our on-line site.
If you’re
trying to sell direct from the news release, keep in mind that
it is hard to sell things for $195, $300, $400, or more. Most
of our success has come from products that were under $50.
However, if you’re just asking people to check out your web
site for more information, then you can use page after page
after page to tell the complete story that could get you those
$195 or $295 sales.
You have a better shot to sell
something when you have more copy and illustrations to tell
the complete story. Send out those press releases to journals,
magazines, and news letters that give your complete web
address and information, and tell them that a complete
description of your product can be found on the web. |

Here’s a very, very simple idea. There’s very little time
or expense to get this one going - it’s simply adding tag
lines to every single e-mail that you send out.
Have a
tag line instructing someone to go to your web site and visit
a special. Maybe you have a special of the month. Have them go
to that particular page of your web site. For example, hot
mail, which is a free e-mail service, got 30 million users
signed up to their service in less than 30 months. That’s one
million users per month!
The way they did is was
through using a tag line. Every time you sent e-mail to
someone through Hotmail, at the bottom of your e-mail it would
say you could get your own private, free e-mail at
hotmail.com, with a link to Hotmail’s home page provided.
Think of all the times you get an interesting piece of
e-mail. You pass it on or forward it to someone else. Well,
one way you can really use this idea is, if you have a web
site or own a business, start an e-mail newsletter. That way
you can get subscribers to your e-mail newsletter. Every month
or every week (however often you decide to send out the
newsletter) you can, of course, have a tag line that gets them
to go to your web site to visit a special.
Of course,
you’ll have your e-mail address so they can subscribe to the
e-mail newsletter. It’s a great way to get a lot of people.
With this, you have the possibility of that newsletter being
passed along to thousands of other people. You’re just
multiplying your exposure!
Tag lines are a
wealth-building tool marketers have been using for years . . .
and there’s almost nothing easier for a customer to use than
an e-mail address or URL tag line. After all, all that
customer typically has to do is simple click on it! They’re so
simple to use, but, with the prospects you’re able to pull in
because of their ease, they could lead you to big continual

News releases are really the king of publicity - they are

There’s a web site on the
Internet called Edcals.com. It’s made up of editorial
calenders - that’s why they call it Edcals. It’s an editorial
calender search engine.
Search engines are programs
located on remote servers Internet surfers use to search for
things on the Internet. Typically, they type a word or two
naming or describing what they’re looking for, and the search
engine goes out and locates all of the web sites within its
reach or databanks that features information about that topic.
Well, Edcals studies a database of more then one
hundred thousand upcoming stories and special issues from just
about every leading U.S. magazine and newspaper in America. It
not sound true, it may seem incredible, but it’s true . . .
almost all the newspapers and magazines in the United States
have loaded their editorial calender into this computer data
base to make it easier for people who want to submit a story.
It’s just incredible. It’s almost too good to be true.
They tell you in advance what they’re going to write about
next month, next week, and the rest of the year, all of next
year. It’s a year ‘round collection of editorial
calendars!
For example, let’s say a business magazine
is going to run a story about how people are making money with
CD-ROMS. You would suddenly know, three months in advance,
that they were about to run this story about CD-ROMs, let’s
say, in INC magazine. If you had a CDrom product or a web site
that offered CD-ROMs, that would give you a chance to create a
news release and send it to this person who’s an editor, by
name, at that publication and say, “I saw on edcals.com, on
your editorial calendar, that you’re doing a story on the
CDROM. I wanted to send this news release to you, and if you
have any questions, give me a call.”
The next stage
would be the news release the way Russ described it. You would
be positioning yourself, and you’d get a slant or an angle on
your story because it would piggyback on what they’re already
going to do. It’s a scientific new way to get thousands of

Scientific, you ask? Very much so! There’s nothing

calendars. When you start reading them, all of a sudden, your
mind is just brimming over with ideas. You see that here’s one
about working at home. Here’s one about moms who are able to
quit their job and stay home. Here’s another one about people
who are moving back to the country because now that they’re
hooked to the Internet, they don’t have to commute and sit in
traffic. They can work over the computer. Here’s another one
about Internet auctions. Here’s a story about home gardening.
Maybe you have something that would relate to that. Here’s one
about health. Here’s one about the changing dietary habits.
Maybe you have a diet book.
Another great thing you
can use to your advantage is the fact that all of the
scheduling is done so far in advance. If a story idea isn’t
going to appear for a few months up to a year, then you might
well have enough time to CREATE product that deals with that
same topic!
Free publicity is one of the most powerful
tools a marketer can have on his or her side - and now, with
resources like Edcals out there, the process has become even

This idea takes a little footwork if you want to get rich
with it. However, it can be no cost or low cost. It’s really
simple - build your e-mail list and mail to it as often as you
can!
When you compare electronic mail to regular mail,
you’ll see that electronic mail has many advantages.
-
Regular mail is expensive. Electronic mail is dirt
cheap.
- Regular mail is wasteful. Electronic mail is
efficient.
- Regular mail is a difficult process. You
have to deal with printers, typesetters, mailing houses,
postal regulations, and they are changing every year. Unless
you’re dealing with a good mail house, it gets very
complicated.
With electronic mail, it’s so incredibly
easy . . . all you do is push a button!
You have no
printers to deal with, no typesetters, and no mailing houses.
You just put your electronic mailing list together and build
it.
Then, you stay in touch with your customers. You
build bonds with your customers. You serve them.
You
see, a lot of people are isolated these days, cutting
themselves off. The computer is like their link to the outside
world, kind of like a telephone. We could even argue that it’s
actually much more personal than a telephone. With the
Internet, it opens these people up to the world that they live
in.
People are looking for companies that they can feel
a sense of relationship with. They want to do business with
people that they can trust.
Our suggestion is that you
let someone else do the technical work and you focus on the
marketing. However, in the beginning if you don’t have any
money to pay somebody (in many cases, you can probably find a
high school kid that would do it for candy bars or Friday
night date money), if you want to do it yourself, that’s
fine.
Focus on your niche whether you’re setting behind
the computer doing the work or you’re paying somebody else to
do the work.
Focus on the market that you want to
serve. Really spend a lot of time thinking about those people.
Spend time seriously thinking about what is most important to
those people and who they are, the other companies that are
serving them in your niche, and how you can be different
than those other companies. If you’ll do those things, this
can potentially make you very, very rich.
This is a
simple, but very powerful way you could make millions with
electronic mail!
One suggestion that would really
amplify this whole concept is for you to plan your
e-mailing.
What we suggest is to do what we do - we’ve
been doing this for the last couple years and our sales and
profits have just shot through the roof since we’ve been doing
this.
We get together every Wednesday afternoon at 3:30
central time, and we have a meeting. During that meeting, we
plan mailings.
Every week, we’ll schedule, sometimes,
as many as ten different mailings. It forces us to think about
which groups of customers we can go to with which
offers.
Since we have to get together to meet anyway,
now, all of the sudden, we start thinking. All week long,
we’re thinking. We’re thinking, “Maybe we can go to these
customers with this offer. Maybe we can go to these customers
with that offer”. We number each mailing. Then, we schedule
it.
You have to space your e-mailings apart. It
wouldn’t be a good idea just to e-mail somebody every single
day on most offers. You need to schedule things out.
By
keeping it organized, giving each e-mailing a number,
assigning a date to it, and trying to do these regular,
organized meetings, you’ll find that this really can be the
secret to making an awful lot of money.
With e-mailings
there are so many advantages that regular mail just doesn’t
have. A lot of people are already making millions of dollars
every year just by doing regular, constant, never-ending
mailings to their customers. Now, you can do the same thing
for little or no cost by capturing your customers’ e-mail
addresses and doing it all electronically. There are people
out there who have used these tactics to become e-mail
millionaires . . . and you could do it, too! |

are the ones that actually move you head and shoulders above

Here’s one of the best ideas we’ve heard for getting rich
with free Internet advertising.
We have a friend in the
business who has found a way to get other people to do his
work for him! He will offer incentives to visitors that go to
his web site to send their friends, relatives, neighbors, and
anybody else they know to his web site.
Very rarely
will these people do that without some incentive. You’ve got
to give them something. Either a discount on your products or
services, a bonus discount above and beyond what you normally
use for promotions. After all, they sent someone to
you.
You could use free bonuses available only to
people that refer people to your site and send them to you.
You could use certificates or coupons from other sites - that
would be another great incentive to offer.
This is
excellent for joint ventures where you are working with
another site. For example, if you’ve got another site that
you’re trading links with, why not give them a coupon for a
discount on their product if they go to that site,
too?
There are all kinds of possibilities for working
out joint ventures to get you bonuses, certificates, or
discount coupons if you can give those incentives to people
who send visitors to your web site. You could give away free
access to a special section on your web site ONLY for those
who have referred people to your web site. If you publish a
newsletter (especially if it’s e-mail because it doesn’t cost
you anything to send it to the people), give them a free
subscription to your newsletter if they refer people to your
site.
A really good idea we recommend is giving them
many subscriptions - For example, three months rather than a
year. That way they have to keep sending someone to you, or
give them a month if it’s a weekly or three issues if it’s a
monthly. That way they want to keep sending people to you. If
you give them a year, they’ll send one person to you and tend
to think, “Well, I did my job,” read your newsletter for a
year, and you won’t hear from anybody
again.
Promotional items you’ve come up with such as
bumper stickers, coffee mugs, etc. are also great choices for
bonuses. Put your URL, web address, or e-mail address on desk
calendars, calculators, and what have you. If you look in the
catalogs that have these specialty items, there are things
that are really nice, too, like clocks, you can go up into a
little higher-end items and give it as a free bonus to people
who send someone to your web site. Low and behold, it’s got
your web site address on it, so they’re constantly reminded to
come back and visit your web site!
People who see it in
their home are also shown your web site address or e-mail
address and are prompted to maybe go check you out. Not to
mention, the people you gave that incentive item to will want
to send them over, because now they might get another free
gift.
Don’t ask people who visit your web site for the
email addresses of their friends, because the only way to use
that e-mail address would be to send them a message inviting
them to visit your web site. That would be considered “spam”
or “unwanted commercial e-mail.” That’s a no-no on the
Internet. What you’re doing here is you’re saying, I always
recommend that you collect the mailing address and all the
information you can from visitors to your web site so that you
can build a mailing list. In that address, where you’re
collecting that information, you want to point out to people
“send other people to my web site.” Be sure and tell them to
fill out this form.
On the form there needs to be a
place to say who referred you. You can either give them a code
number, a special keyword, or anything that they can enter
there to tell you who sent them. Once they’ve filled out that
name and address form, you’ve got a way to send them their
free goodies for sending that person your way. Well, low and
behold, you’re also doubling or tripling the size of your
mailing address list that you are building on your web site
from people who are sending referrals to your web site. That’s
right - this technique is how to automatically get 3 times
more people to visit your web site on a regular
basis!
The idea is, again, to just get creative. You
have to make sure that the promotional item that you’re
offering is something that’s desirable. You’ve got to make it
desirable if it’s a freebie that you’re giving out that
doesn’t cost you much. For example, don’t ever give away a
free newsletter that you give away free anyway. You want to
have a value on every issue and tell them what a subscription
costs. Therefore, three months of this free is worth so much
money, and “I’m giving it to you free for sending someone to

seem to be a really popular item. Of course, the t-shirt (if

they’re looking for information from authors, writers, and

You can write an article on a specific

Of course, in that blurb, or that resource
box, then, you give them information (just a little bit) about
your new product that pulls weeds out and ties in directly
with the article. That’s something that’s worked. That’s a

print publications. Most marketers never even think of
this! Here is a chance to get yourself published in one of
your market’s publications that millions of people might be
reading - here is a chance to appear to these people that you
are an expert in that market - and a chance to promote your
products with the assumed trust of being an expert! This is a
little-known method to get up to millions of new people to
come to your web site and buy from you!
If you have a
marketing web site you can have an article about marketing,
that says “Seven Hot Ways to Get the Most Money From Your
Marketing Effort.” Then you have a link, or web site address,
at the end of the article!
The power of it is that it
can also be used on the Internet. Let’s look at some of these
Internet newsletters. Many of the people on the Internet that
have these Internet newsletters are even more stressed out
than the people offering the print publications. While many
print publications come out every single month, a lot of these
Internet newsletters come out every single week. We’ve even
seen some of them - It’s hard to believe, we know - that come
out every single day.
Imagine the deadline where you’ve
got 24 hours to fill out the little Internet newsletter and
send it out to people on your list. We’ve talked to some
people that do this either daily or weekly and they’re

to give a link, or a little paragraph about a product, to take

are so hungry for it that in some cases they actually go out

short blurbs, or techniques, or hints, tricks, or anything

newsletter is, once they’re getting that newsletter by e-mail
they’re already on the Internet. So you know they have the
ability to go to your web site, plus you can include a live
link right at the end of that article for more information so
they don’t have to do anything other than click right on
it.
Up pops your Internet site and you can have them go
directly to a particular page, a particular product, or a
particular offer on your site directly from that link and it’s
free of charge. If you’ve got some products lying around that
you’re selling you don’t even have to write
anything yourself. In some cases, you can take information
from those products and use that as articles.

in the past that We’ve seen done is marketers find a product
written by another author and become a distributor for it,

cost you a little money. It’s a low cost advertising method,
but you can actually advertise as a sponsor of this event.
Usually, depending on the event and the size of it, you can
get a lot of publicity for your web site just by listing your
web site instead of your business name as who’s sponsoring the
event. Let’s use amazon.com for example. If they were to
sponsor a local event, of course, they would say that
amazon.com is sponsoring the event. So, if you had a business
name, you could actually use your web site address rather than
your business name as the name of the company that is
sponsoring the event. Say it was a big marathon race that was
running through your town for a charity cause. Maybe at the
beginning and ending points they would have big banners with
all of the sponsors on them. Right there as all those
thousands of people were running by and all those thousands
and thousands of spectators were watching would be the name of

Again, it’s going to be something that you would have to
spend a little money on,so it’s a low cost way. You’d be

highlight it, go up and click add a link, and type in the web
address. Blink! You have this string of text highlighted to
take you to that web site when you click on it. It can be
very, very simple.
In fact, we should stress, too, that
a list of links is one of the best contents that you can
provide, especially if you are constantly changing and
upgrading it. You can do it on one page.
Direct people
to that page from elsewhere in your site. Never even touch the
rest of your site, just have that one page that you update and
place on your web site on a regular basis.
People will
keep coming back. If they don’t make it their home page, they
will still at least bookmark it as a place to go to find
resources - by continually attracting people to your web site,
the higher your chances of making even more money - therefore,
links help you make huge sums of extra cash profits. And
all you had to do was add simple links to your web

If you’ve been to some of the larger websites on the
Internet, you’ll notice that, in some cases, they’ve actually
won awards. There are all sorts of awards on the Internet.
There’s “Top 5% of the Web,” “Best of the Web,” “Best
Website,” . . . all sorts of different awards.
Some of
these awards are given to websites by companies. Some of them
are given by large websites. Others are given out by some
search engines, even. Many of them are given out by regular
people who are not large corporations or multi-million dollar
concerns - they’re just Joe Shmo down the block who decided
to create his own award and now he’s passing it out to what he
believes are the best websites.
Getting one of these
Internet awards can actually turn out to be a great form of
free advertising! If you go to a website and you see one of
those little award symbols, you would usually find that the
award graphic is actually linked back to the site that gave
the award.
So, for example, let’s say you go to a
website and down in the lower lefthand corner, there’s a
little box that says “This site won the Top 10% of the
Internet.” In many cases, you can just click on that, and it
will take you back to the site that awarded that Internet site
that award. Then, once you’ve reached that site, you can
actually submit your consideration to win that award.own site
to win that award.
If you’re lucky enough to get that
award, those who “issue” the award will typically e-mail you
the graphic or give you an Internet site where you can pick up
the graphic. Then you can put that on your
website.
This does a couple of things for you. First of
all, it gives you a little bit of credibility. People come to
your website, and they see the award or awards you’ve won.
They then think that your site must be something great or
special - after all, it won an award - so it’s probably
worth more browsing time to see what’s
there.
Second, in many cases you get a listing on the
site that gave you the award. In many cases, they’ll
categorize the sites that they’ve given the award to and
supply links to them. You end up getting a free listing on
their site!
Remember, there are a lot of websites that
might have gotten the same award. They’re all linked back to
this site that gave the award. You’re not only getting people
who click on your award to go back to that site and see your
listing, but all these people who are coming from all the
award sites. So, your listing on their site can bring in a
whole ton of free advertising for you. This is how to use a

Or, on the flip
side, you might also think about coming up with your own
Internet award. You can also go this route to get some free
advertising.
Let’s say that, on your website, you’re
selling an audio cassette program showing you how to Get Rich
With Internet Auctions. You can actually create an award given
to Hot Internet Auction sites! Then, you contact many sites
that hold Internet auctions. You find the best, then e-mail
them and say, “Guess what? You won our Internet Auction award!
Here’s the graphic, put it on your site and link it back to
us. We’ll include information about your auction on our site.
Congratulations for getting the award.”
What does this
do for you? Now, in most cases, you’ll have your award on the
home page or front page of the Internet auction sites that
received your award - maybe fifty, a hundred, two hundred, or
even five hundred Internet auction sites! When people see that
award and want to know more, they’ll click on it. It now
takes them back to your website where you’re selling

perfect tie-in. You could bring a lot of traffic and business
in through using this technique.
It’s a win-win
situation if you think about it. The company that receives the
award wins because they get more credibility and they get some
additional free advertising on your website. You win because

sites or other sites for your particular product.
This
is a strong reason why we believe that, if you’re going to use
the Internet award techniques, you need to serve a niche
market - and have an award specifically aimed at that niche.
For example, we would never create an award for the “top 5% of

just for the type of product our market was interested
in.
For example, if you’re selling a book on gardening,

The Lipper Analytic Review recently did a survey in order
to separate those sites that were getting the most hits and
the most business from those that were being ignored. It came
down to one very important issue - content.
If you have
a website - and you should - you’re going to really have to
load it up with content instead of just advertisements for
your product or service. So what do we mean by content? We’re
talking about good news items, solid information, interesting
articles, useful advice - anything related to the interest
of the people most likely to come to your site. Just putting
up some ads for your products and services is not good
enough.
You need to have good content - the related
stories and news - that makes people want to come to the site.
For example, several sharp marketers now are selling books and
manuals over the Internet, and they’re putting a chapter or
two of the book or manual they’re selling on their webpage
for their prospects and customers to read through and preview
before they buy. Even if the first chapter comes out to a
hundred pages or a hundred and fifty pages, upload every page
to your website!
This is working well for many internet
marketers - it’s a way to use your site to give away something
FREE that will end up making people give you a ton of money!
We first heard about this on C-Span where they have what’s
called “Book T.V.” every weekend to promote
nonfiction books. Many of the books are historical or
political, but they do cover some business books, too. They
found that by just giving the first chapter plus the table of
contents of every book that they review on “Book T.V.,” their
sales more than double. It can really pay off if
you’re selling books, manuals, reports, or any other sort
of printed product. Free samples are very powerful, and you
certainly should consider giving people free samples - they
really seem to help make the sale. There are other sites that
are looking for content. But remember, charity starts at home
with your own site. Once you’ve taken care of your own site,
then you can think about providing content for related sites.
They may not be direct competitors of yours, but they have
similar items or similar service and you may want to do some
joint venture marketing.
Let’s say your niche market is
travel. You search out all the cheapest places to go, how to
get the best airline fares, where not to go - everything
related to travel. That’s something that can go on many sites,
including sites that aren’t necessarily even travel sites.
When it comes to supplying content to other sites, you may
offer it free to them, but put that resource box at the bottom
stating that you have tapes, books, or plans that you market.
People should get in touch with you because you can give them
the information they want and, of course, you’re interested in
making sales for the products that you have. We think you
really will benefit if you think about how to fill your site
with good, quality content. Then you can provide content for
other sites and make some defacto sales by getting on those

Here’s something that’s a little more difficult, but for
those of you who decide to take the challenge, it could be
very beneficial.
Set up a contest on your website to
give people a monthly (or however often you wanted to do it)
monetary prize, say $1,000 gift or $1,000 prize. You could do
it weekly or you could even do it annually if it were a large
enough amount.
You might be thinking “Well, I don’t
want to give people $1,000.” That’s okay, you don’t have to .
. . you can get other people to pay your prize money for you!
How, you ask? By setting up sponsors for the
giveaway!
You set up a website or a portion of your
website - preferably the homepage, which people see first - to
attract people into entering the contest. On your website you
display the banner ads and display ads of the contest’s
sponsors.
If you had a $1,000 prize that you were
giving away each month, you might charge each sponsor $200 or
$250 each month just to have their banner on your contest site
and be a sponsor. For example, if you had a $250 sponsor fee,
you’d only need four of those sponsors each month to pay for
your prize! And any more sponsors would turn up profit for
you!
Another way you can make this work is to not only
have sponsors who help pay for the prize money, but also
charge other websites to have your contest listed on their
website. The way this benefits the other sites is, since
they’re presenting your prize on their website, they can
go advertise for surfers to come to THEIR site for a chance
to win $1,000! When people come to their website, they’ve got
the content, but they also have that link back to your website
that lets their customers enter the $1,000
contest.
We’ve seen a lot of websites out there that
offer prizes up to millions and millions of dollars. The key
is not having to spend the money yourself but getting sponsors
and other people instead to help split the cost and help pay
for the prize. Depending on how many sponsors you have, you
can have prizes set of up to thousands and thousands of
dollars. The end result: If you have more sponsors and more
money coming in than the cost of your prizes, you’re going to
