In this article I am going to tell you how to get the world’s greatest writers to produce your content free, and how to make money giving that content away. Everyone on the Internet is looking for quality content they can use on their web sites. Here is a twist that gives you high quality content to offer other web sites - and it’s not really going to cost you anything. In fact, it is going to make you money!

First of all, you need to decide on one or two topics (subject areas) that really interest you. It should be something that you enjoy reading about. Let’s look at small business home office operations as an example. If small business home office operations are really interesting and fascinating for you, then go out and make a list of the best selling books in that subject area right now that are in the book stores or just coming out. Get copies of those books! While you’re at it, make arrangements to become a book seller. If you don’t know how to do that, you can contact the American Book Sellers Association. Why make arrangements to become a bookseller? You want to do is be able to buy the books that are selling well at wholesale prices! Now, I am going to show you how you’re going to sell those books very effectively.

So now let’s assume you have these basic books. You find them interesting. Now you need to sit down and read them. That’s why I said you need a subject area that interests you!

You read the books, then you extract the key ideas from each of those books. You are going to look for 20 - 30 ideas in each of those publications that are standouts. It could be a surprising piece of information, or a piece of information that is really thought provoking. It could be a piece of information that could save someone a lot of money, or something that was very interesting and witty.

You are going to write these out in short paragraphs of two to four sentences and put them in little attractive blocks so they can easily be inserted on a web site. Then you are going to take each one of these and create a headline that is appropriate for what the paragraph is about, such as how to reduce your printing costs 15%. End your paragraph, and below that put the signature that says the name, the author, and the book it was taken from. So far, so good, but how are you going to make your money?

You are going to contact web sites that would be interested in this particular market, which would be web sites that are focused on home businesses and small business operators. Then you’re going to offer them one of these blocks of type every single week at absolutely no charge. Most of them will jump for it!

How are you going to make your money? At the bottom of that tip or paragraph is a link, and it says, “For more - click here.” They are reading along the paragraph, they see something that is really interesting and fascinating, they get to the end and it tells them what book it’s from, and it says, “For more - click here.”

Most people are going to assume it means they can get more information on the subject. When they click, though, it is going to take them to your web site - and not just a front page web site. It is going to take them to a page you set up at your web site which is actually a page about that book. You’re going to use an illustration that you either scan from the cover yourself, or “steal” from Amazon.com, which you put on your site.

If you’d like to have an overview on your web page describing the book, it’s very, very easy to find the information ... just look at the book’s jacket! If the book is hardcover and comes with the paper cover - known as a “dust cover” - the inside flaps will have information on what the book is about, quotes from reviewers, and author information.

Your next task is to create your order form so they can order the book directly from you. You don’t have to stock the books. You can stock the books if you want to, but instead you could probably make arrangements with booksellers and distributors to do the drop shipping for you.

Essentially, you set up a selling machine where all the content you’ve created is essentially a banner ad on other sites - hundreds of them that are bringing sales to you. These banner ads take the prospects directly to the page where they make the order, and you have a page for each book that you’re promoting. This is a true selling machine!

These are the kinds of ideas you need to come up with and use. This is not an all inclusive list, and you should always try to come up with your own.

This is merely a sample list, merely a “starter’s block” for you to start with and gain some idea of what will make you profitable. These are the kinds of ideas which many direct-response marketers use to grab the attention of their prospects and make thousands of dollars.

Marketing is everything, and many great product ideas are doomed to failure from the word “go” . . . because the companies didn’t know how to market them. It’s not the product that really matters.

We see companies very often that are very protective of every business and product idea that they have. They are afraid of letting anyone else know about their ideas because they are afraid someone else will use them to make millions.

This just isn’t true. It’s difficult to get out there and promote products. It’s hard to get people to send you their money. We are living in a competitive society, and no one knows this better than a good marketer.

A lot of products could have sold if someone had simply taken the time and effort to learn how to market them. This is why you can find “gold mines” of products out there that other people haven’t been able to do anything with - AND CASH IN WITH THEM! It’s a matter of knowing how to market these products that is the most important.

We all live and die on traffic to our sites, it is so very important. Banner ads are a powerful way to increase traffic.

When you mention traffic, most people think of search engines. Search engines are the focus. But 90% of the traffic for a web site comes from an entirely different place – not search engines, but simply links from other sites!

Everyone knows what a link is from another site, but it is an overlooked gold mine of traffic that you should devote a lot of time and effort to developing. It’s not difficult to do, but the more links, the more traffic, and the more referrals. You cannot count on search engines to deliver all of your traffic. You need banner ads, you need links.

Search engines just don’t cover the waterfront any more. There’s been some recent research that says a lot of the search engines don’t even index 25% of the pages that are really out there.

You cannot depend on the search engines as the source of all of your traffic. The search engine has no real incentive to make certain that all pages are indexed and available to the index because search engines are primarily advertising sites. They are in business to sell ads on the search engine. So as long as there is enough there to be useful to their clients, they’re going to succeed.

You need to build additional ways of getting traffic and not devote all of your time and effort to high positions on the search engines. A way to go about it is simply to look for sites that will attract the same kind of customers that you’re looking for. These are sites that will appeal to the same demo-graphics as your customer. If you’re selling a high ticket item, you want to look at sites that people visit that are high priced items as well. If you’re in a particular niche market, you want to look for other sites that will appeal to the same market.

We know what you’re thinking ... “What about the competition? I don’t want to do business with the competition. I don’t want links with the competition.”

Well, you don’t want a link with someone who sells exactly what you sell, or who sells what you sell cheaper than what you sell, but you do want linked with people who are in the same industry. People who are selling some of the same products still would help, as long as they can deliver and are willing to deliver target customers, it is a mutual and beneficial arrangement.

For example, there are a lot of opportunities, but if your site was on self-publishing, there are all sorts of links that you could establish with printers, artists who design covers, companies who make display racks, box racks for store counters, companies who write press materials, ghost writers, and it goes on and on and on.

People that are related, sources that would be useful for people who visit your site - your customers will appreciate you for it, because you become a resource. This is not just a link. While you are building traffic for them, you are giving valuable information. You’re taking them to sources. And, if you establish a reciprocal link with these companies, there are people who visit the printer who are doing self-publishing so they want to come to your site.

It’s very simple to do. You just have to take the time to approach these other sites that attract the same kind and class of customers that you are looking for and ask them to establish the link. Offer to put a link on your site, or put a link on their site, contact them and say, “You’re a valuable resource with our customers. I put a link on my site to yours, would you be inclined to do the same for me?” Some will, some won’t. It doesn’t matter. The more links on your site, the more people will come again and again to your site, the more people who will be referred to your site.

If you have an affiliate program, you could use it strictly as a link builder. We have a friend who does this. He checks into sites that he thinks are high quality sites, that have products that his customers would be interested in, related products, sites that he would like to be associated with.

He contacts them, asks for a link to help his new site prosper, and he offers them a link in exchange. But then he goes one step further.

He offers to pay them a commission on any sale from a customer that is referred to him from their link, and he offers to pay them a commission on every sale that is made for a full year. Well, that’s quite an incentive to establish a link!

You don’t have to have an affiliate program to get a link, but this just makes it almost a slam-dunk deal. It gets web site owners’ attention, and it is getting our friend some very high quality links that he probably wouldn’t have gotten any other way. It’s no problem for him to handle as an affiliate
