What I suggest you do if you don’t want to create a product yourself is to go find an expert and let them write the words for you. Now, I’m not talking about having them write a book, or having a ghostwriter write a book for you. What I’m talking about is finding a public speaker - someone who speaks on a topic that you’re interested in, or a topic that you believe that there are a lot of people interested in, get permission from them to transcribe that, and turn their speech into a manual.

Maybe they would say, “Sure. I have no interest in writing, and I’ll let you do it for free.” Maybe they’ll want a cut of the profits. You can work out some kind of arrangement there. You’d be surprised how many speakers would be flattered that you would even be interested in their speech, and that you thought their speech was good enough to turn into a manual.

A lot of public speakers, you’ll find, may not be interested in writing at all. They may have no desire to write and turn their speech into a transcript. Now, the proof that this is very powerful and can work wonders for you is a man named Mark Nolan. He turned his speech into a manual called “Instant Cash Flow” and made 3 million dollars with it. So, obviously, it’s something that’s a very powerful technique. If you do it right, it can work wonders for you.

So, again, this is very simple. Find a public speaker and get permission from them to transcribe their speech and turn it into a manual. It’s real easy to do. There is equipment out there that lets you actually just use your foot pedal and stop and pause it as you need.

I wouldn’t even mess with that yourself. There are probably people who would do it very cheaply, who can transcribe a speech for you and put it into manual form. Then you just need to clean it up and have a typesetter make it look real nice. That’s real easy to do.

Here’s another take on this that you might try to do. Maybe a half hour speech wouldn’t turn into that much transcription and wouldn’t be a very big manual. So you could find four or five speakers. You could compile it into a manual that might be 200 or 300 pages, maybe even a book, where you had three or four different chapters or sections. Each section could be on a different speaker all related to the same topic. You could have a big reference guide or a big book that contained all the speeches from all of these experts.

Soon after they build their web site and get it up and running, people realize they need more than a web site that’s “just there.” They need it to do something. They need their web site to get subscribers for their e-mailing list. They need to add subscribers to their e-zine. They need their site to admit visitors to a private area to view something, or to participate in a group. They need to add a discussion group to their site. They want to count the visitors with a counter, and they want a way that people can refer their site to a friend.

Finally, they realize that they need to take orders, and that requires an order taking system or shopping cart. When they are faced with all of this, a beginning web marketer’s first reaction is to panic! They realize they don’t know how to do all of these things, because 1) they either don’t have the knowledge and when they look at the task it is frightening, or, 2) they are really busy setting up their business operation and they don’t have the time.

That presents an opportunity for you! You can become what I call a “CGI installer for hire!”

Most of all these features I’ve mentioned are simplistic little programs called CGI programs or CGI scripts. CGI stands for Common Gateway Interface.

In simple terms, it just means these are small programs which you add to a particular location on the server. They run on the server doing all the things that I just covered. CGI programs do everything from count the visitors to operate shopping carts.

Even though these programs are simple, though, they can be a nightmare to install, because they use terms that most people are not familiar with. It involves config files, setting permissions, and people get really paranoid when they run into all of these terms and situations - particularly new owners!

The truth is, these programs are very, very easy to install. You don’t need to know anything about computer programming. You don’t need to know anything, except for how to follow instructions very well, because almost every CGI program that I’ve ever seen comes with a “read me” file that tells you exactly what to do. As soon as you understand the terms and have installed a couple of programs, they are really a piece of cake!

Here’s an opportunity to charge site owners a flat fee to install their scripts for them. I say “a flat fee” because once you’ve installed a few scripts you’ll know exactly how much time it takes. It doesn’t take much time at all! If you say you are going to charge a certain amount an hour, it could frighten an owner, because they look at their site and they don’t understand it. “I’ve spent hours working on this thing and I don’t understand it!” they think. Therefore, they assume it is going to take you hours!

If you are charging an hourly fee, they’re going to freak! The secret is to charge them a flat fee because you know how quickly you can really do it. You can charge them $50, $75, or $100 to install a CGI script (depending on what your time configurations are) and you can do it very simply and very quickly. You’ll know exactly what to do and exactly where to go.

Now the question is, what’s the best way to build this business? The CGI scripts are all over the Internet and they’re free. Therefore, you can go out and find the ten most popular scripts. (They are rated in various places.) Then you get the ten most popular scripts and you load them on your web site. Then you promote your web site as a location to get the scripts. Set it up so they can download the scripts for free.

Remember, you have to let them download the scripts for free, and every place you have a script listed, you should also list your cost for installing the script. This way they can download the script for free, and they know exactly what it is going to cost them for you to do it.

As soon as they look at it and throw their hands up in the air, they can give you a call. You take their credit card and you can sit home literally in your underwear. You can install CGI scripts any time of the day or night, right in the server! All they have to do is give you the information that you require, the password to their server, and so forth. You can go in and install the script very, very easily! And yes, it is easy to do once you are familiar with it.

If you don’t want to do all this work yourself, it would be very easy to find some college students to do it for you. You could even find several college students and let each one of them specialize in one or two of the scripts. Every time you get an order for the scripts, you pick up the phone, call them, and say, “Hey, install this script for me. Here’s the information.” Then you split the money. You could actually do this even if you don’t want to get into the installation of the CGI scripts yourself.

How do you build your business? You’re going to list all the programs that you have and pick them in different categories, such as the popular referral “tell a friend” program, or the “shopping cart” program, right on down the line...calendar, order form, form mail, so someone can get anything they want right off your site. They can download it and get it installed.

So, how does it keep making profits for you? The longer people have been on the web, the more features they want to add! Also, each time they do, there’s a good chance that you can install another CGI script.

How do you make money when they move? Every web site moves at some point. No webmaster ever seems to be 100% satisfied with their host. They’re always saying things like, “The service wasn’t good when I called. I need more space than they’re giving me. I found it cheaper some place else.”

When they move their site, they’re not just transferring the site. Most times all those CGI scripts have to be reconfigured, because there are different paths to the program, and 90% of installing a CGI script is just telling it where to find information and where to put information. Therefore, when they change servers, that means there is another opportunity for you to work for them again. You continue to promote your business by sending periodic e-mails telling your customers about new CGI scripts that you have on your site, or other things that you can add to their site which will enhance it. That should keep you in more work than you can possibly handle!

We went to a store called the Ninety-eight Cent Store they have here in our area. Everything in the store was ninety-eight cents or less. There’s another string of similar stores called “Dollar Store”. Just about anywhere across the country, there are stores like this. They buy end-lots, discontinued items, overstocks, and seasonal products. They had a bunch of Halloween candy that no one wants to buy any other month than October, with pumpkins and things on it.

That Halloween candy was sitting around the store at Christmas. They just have all kinds of things. In the winter, they’ll have little planter pots that in the spring, of course, will sell real well.

We found some books that normally would be $3.95, they were only $0.98. That amazes me, because when I look at my own business and talk to other successful people in our marketplace we always joke about the fact that we have the exact opposite problem. We have too many ideas and not enough time to pursue all of them!

Nevertheless, there are a lot of people out there who simply don’t know how to get ideas. Therefore, here are three easy ways to create and develop cash producing ideas that could make you a fortune on the Internet.

1. Find promotions that are working well for other people on the Internet and use their ideas.

Anything that someone’s using to make money for themselves can be modified to make money for you and your web site! Just find promotions that are making money for other people right now, and study them. Think conceptually. Think about the reasons why those promotions are working.

I have a huge binder full of ads and sales letters. In fact, I have more than one binder full of ads and sales letters that other people are using. If I see an ad or a sales letter that I know is powerful and making a huge profit, or if I see phrases or headlines that I like, I photocopy it or just take the whole ad and stick it right in a binder and keep a collection.

That collection is very valuable to me whenever I go to create new ads and sales letters! If you don’t already have a collection of ads and sales letters, you should definitely start your own collection! You can come up with all kinds of breakthrough ideas just by studying sales materials that other companies are using. Then find ways to transfer those ideas and concepts into your own promotions.

Here’s a trick that most people never think about! When you come across a web site that you know is getting a lot of traffic, you can actually print that web site out on your printer and add it to your collection of ads and sales letters. You could create an entire section in your binder that contains only web sites.

Most people don’t even think about printing web sites out. They see good web sites and they just try to remember what they saw, or they’ll jot down a little note and try to remember where the address was for that web site so they can return to it. Memories fade quickly!

Here’s a quick secret to completely eliminate failure. We’ve talked about failure here and people are really afraid of failure, so here’s a way to eliminate failure and never fail again.

First of all, don’t call it failure. It’s all results. There are people out there that believe that even when you fail, you learn something. We believe ourselves. It’s all results. You have to gauge it in terms of result. O.K., so I got poor results from that – it wasn’t a failure, I learned something – now let’s try to get better results from the next thing that I do.

We hope when people get out there and are trying these ideas that they don’t look at it as failure, but as a learning experience, and ask, “What did I learn from it?” and then try to get some better results next time.

If you study the lives of all successful people, you will find that it happens all the time, They did suffer from a great number of what some people call failures – although to them it was just stepping stones that got them where they wanted to end up – and they are constantly learning, and growing, and gaining that experience and that knowledge.
